JanDaily Menu (Jan 3 - 9)
I’ve decided to create a daily menu for myself, much like the one my dude used to make for us. I am combining things he taught us and things that WW taught us and I am GOING to make this work, because I HAVE to.
I get the munchies really easily, especially when I am bored (not to mention when I am sad, happy, basically any kind of emotional) So, I’ve set my menu to have me eat every 2 hours. As my stomach and brain get back into the habit of this, I can slowly spread the times out until I am eating every 3 hours.
Here’s the menu I made for myself this week:
7AM: WW Toast and a banana = 4 points
9AM: Yoplait smoothie and crackers = 5 points
11AM: Deli turkey and an apple = 4 points
1PM: Lean Cuisine = on average 5 points
3PM: Cottage cheese and crackers = 5 points
5PM: Deli turkey and an apple = 4 points
7PM: Dinner = 10 or 11 points
9PM: Snack = up to 5 points (or whatever points are left after dinner)
That will equal my 43 daily points.
I haven’t made up my dinner menu for the week yet, but once I do, I’ll post that also. Next week, I’ll mix up my menu again. I kinda liked that part of the dude’s diet, because I knew what to expect each day. But I also like using the WW points, because I also can have a cheat every so often and use my 35 bonus points and not feel guilty.
Alright. New Year, new beginnings. I really want to do this my way. No more living up to the expectations other set for me. If I stumble, I stumble.
I don’t need to put so much pressure on myself. Two weeks before Christmas, I was at my doc’s for an asthma check in. We were trying a new inhaler regiment and she wanted to see me again the day after Christmas. She basically told me to just forget dieting for two weeks and enjoy the holidays (with out going hog-wild of course). The Sat after Christmas, I was dreading my appointment. I had tried to watch what I was eating, but I wasn’t counting points by any means. And also, due to the asthma restrictions and the Code Red Air Alerts, I hadn’t worked out at all. But I had relaxed and I had gotten at least 8 hours of sleep each night.
Reluctantly, I stepped onto the scale and to my surprise, I had LOST 5 lbs in those two weeks. Now, I am not going to kid myself and say that this is a typical result of not exercising and eating whatever I wanted. But it did tell me that I need to relax. I need to do this on my own terms. I need to get some good sleep each night. And I also need to diet and exercise.
So … here we go! … again!
